Rules for the Election

    • Each Department and each School within a College can have at most one representative on the university wide Tenure and Promotion Committee.
    • Membership on the committee is restricted to the following structure: 2 faculty representatives from each of the five academic Colleges and 1 faculty representative from the non-classroom faculty.
    • The election is decided by a majority of those casting votes unless such results violate the previous rules or the number of candidates does not exceed the number of positions to fill. In the later case, each candidate will be voted on by an approve/disapprove ballot.
    • Each candidate selected counts as a cast vote.

Department: Counseling & Psychological Services

I am currently serving a 1-year term on the Tenure & Promotion Committee. This committee has a steep learning curve, but I believe I have caught on quickly and worked diligently and fairly to evaluate candidates for tenure and promotion. As someone who recently obtained tenure and promotion, I have brought a fresh perspective, and have also provided information to other members about the duties of non-classroom faculty. It has been a privilege to witness all of the important work performed by fellow faculty. I have truly valued serving on this committee and contributing in such a meaningful way to the university. If voted to continue on TeP, I will continue to bring a strong and fair work ethic to the process.
