James R Bleiberg

Department: Counseling and Psychological Services

My service to the university over the past twelve years prepared me to serve on the Tenure and Promotion Committee.

Since 2010 I served on the Promotion and Tenure Workshop Committee (PTW). In 2012 I helped to develop the template that guided each department in updating their Department Teacher Scholar Model (DTSM). Thereafter, I took part in PTW’s review of all DTSMs in order to prepare a report for Meet and Discuss. I also facilitated PTW’s workshops that prepared faculty for the tenure and promotion process.

I served on the Alcohol Work Group from 2006-20012 charged with decreasing the negative effects of substance abuse on campus in accordance with the WCU mission statement.

From 2005-2006 I was a member of the Campus Climate Intervention Team, which investigates incidents involving bias against any individual or group due to race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity or disability.

As an Associate Professor and Psychologist in the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services, I serve as the Group Therapy Coordinator.

I would greatly appreciate your vote in this election.
