Idna M. Corbett

Department: Educational Development

I have been a faculty member in the Educational Development Department since 1992, served as a member of several university-wide committees such as CAPC and Faculty Senate, and chaired or served as a member of many evaluation committees, not just in my home department, but also in other departments. I believe that TeP members must keep an open mind and have a broad understanding of the many ways that excellence in teaching, scholarly work, and service can be demonstrated. Successful applications for tenure and promotion (first to associate professor and, last year, to full professor) have taught me much about the faculty evaluation process, particularly the issues that non-classroom faculty face. I intend to serve as a source of support and information for those applying for tenure and promotion. If elected, I will devote the necessary time that this commitment requires.
