Department: Early & Middle Grades Education I am a Professor in the Department of Early & Middle Grades Education. I highly value and respect the work of the TeP Committee and the varied work of our colleagues across the university. During my 15 years at WCU, I have participated in roles and on committees that have afforded me insight into our varied faculty responsibilities in teaching, scholarship and service. I have served on the evaluation committee in our department, and as evaluation committee member for faculty in 5 other departments, in and outside of our college. I have participated in the evaluation process as EMGE Department Chair, and I have served in the role of Department Chair for evaluations of faculty in 2 other departments. I have been fortunate to learn about faculty teaching and scholarship through participation on the Academic Recognition Committee, the former Pedagogy for Engagement Committee, and the former Faculty Grant Development Committee. Additionally, I have worked in undergraduate and graduate education, now serving as Coordinator for our M.Ed. in Applied Studies in Teaching and Learning program. I believe these experiences enable me to appreciate and understand the varied teaching, research /creative activity and service experiences of our faculty at WCU. Thank you for considering my nomination.
