S. Christy Hicks

Department: Special Education

In my time at the university, I have worked on committees to revise bylaws at the department (Special Education), college (Council for Professional Education) and state (APSCUF) levels, and I currently chair a committee within my department to revise the department's teacher-scholar model. As someone who appreciates policy and the structure it provides, I would welcome the opportunity engage in service to my colleagues through the application of policy as it pertains to faculty teacher-scholar activities. As a representative of the Tenure and Promotion Committee, I will collaborate with others to ensure the policies of tenure and promotion, as outlined in the CBA, local promotion policy, and department teacher-scholar models, are applied in a fair and consistent manner. Thank you for your consideration.

Department: EMGE

I am requesting your support for another term on the TeP committee. This year we transitioned to the electronic submission of tenure and promotion applications. While this process has worked reasonably well, there are some issues that need to be addressed for both the applicants and the reviewers. I feel a responsibility to get the electronic submission system working effectively. I would like the opportunity to work with our on campus support team and OnBase to make sure the process works for everyone. I continue to be impressed by the high quality of teaching, scholarship and service of our faculty and understand how important the work of this committee is to each faculty member and the university.
