Rules for the Election

    • Please note: These rules have been updated to comply with the recent agreement between APSCUF and University Management.
    • According to agreement between APSCUF and University Management, there can be only one representative from any Department within a college. For this reason, nominees for this election cannot be from the Department of Early and Middle Grades Education since there is ongoing representation on the committee from that department.
    • Faculty that wish to serve on TeP must be available Friday mornings from 8 am--10 am for meetings.
    • Each Department and each School within a College can have at most one representative on the university wide Tenure and Promotion Committee.
    • Membership on the committee is restricted to the following structure: 2 faculty representatives from each of the five academic Colleges and 1 faculty representative from the non-classroom faculty.
    • The election is decided by a majority of those casting votes unless such results violate the previous rules or the number of candidates does not exceed the number of positions to fill. In the later case, each candidate will be voted on by an approve/disapprove ballot.
    • Each candidate selected counts as a cast vote.

Beatrice Adera

Department: Special Education

This is my sixth year as a faculty member in the Special Education Department. Since receiving my tenure, I have had the opportunity to chair one promotion and tenure committee, act as department chair for a third-year review and also participated in two promotion committees. These experiences helped me gain additional insight on the guidelines and policies for tenure and promotion. Serving in thIS committee will help me gain additional understanding of the guidelines and policies guiding the faculty evaluation process. I hope you will vote for me and give me the chance to represent our department on the tenure and promotion committee. Thanks in advance for you vote.

Greg Tully

Department: Undergraduate Social Work

I have 25 years of experience at three major U.S. schools as a graduate/undergraduate faculty member and administrator(Department Chair), and at one of these universities I was elected by the faculty to serve on the University TeP Committee. I appreciate the significance of TeP review in evaluating the dedicated efforts of diverse faculty colleagues who make valuable contributions to our university. I understand the WCU TeP process, since I recently chaired the five-year reviews for two WCU tenured faculty, and I was recently promoted to full Professor at WCU. I would be honored to serve my faculty colleagues and our university on the WCU TeP Committee.
