Gail Bollin

Department: Elementary Education

I would like to serve a second term as the College of Education TeP representative. I advocate a fair hearing for all applications for tenure and promotion using the criteria listed in the contract and the current promotion policy. I believe each portfolio deserves a thorough review and I am very willing to invest the time and energy to do so. I have learned much during my first term on this committee and feel I am now even better qualified to serve my colleagues across the campus as well as in the College of Education on TeP.

George Drake

Department: Early Childhood and Special Education

I have served my department many times as member and/or chair of our evaluation committee, now it is time to participate at the next level. My efforts at facilitating faculty evaluation as it drives the annual review process as well as tenure and promotion have led to many stimulating and provocative discussions about the process with colleagues in my department and across the unit. I want to bring my perspective to the Tenure and Promotion Committee to help ensure a fair and equitable experience for all who seek tenure and promotion.

Sunita Mayor

Department: Literacy

I write to request your support on the TEP committee. As Special Assistant to the Provost this year I have had the unique opportunity to work with colleagues with different research and philosophical paradigms.

I have had a chance to examine WCU Tenure and Promotion Policy, the guidelines send by the Provost, TEP and APSCUF, looked at the teacher scholar model (s) across the disciplines and suggest changes. I have worked on the Weighting of Expectation Statement for the CBA. I collected data on Tenure and Promotion at WCU for the last 10 years and reported on these data to the EPT committee.

All of these experiences have made me more sensitive to the issues of teaching and learning in the various disciplines. The opportunity to serve on TEP would enable me to further contribute to the WCU community.
