Karin Gedge

Department: History

I have been teaching the Secondary Social Studies Methods course and/or supervising student teachers in Social Studies all but one semester in my four years here at West Chester. I attend Supervisor's meetings regularly and know most of the folks in Arts and Sciences who share those responsibilities. My focus in the coming year is to revise my course (and consequently my expectations for student teachers) to better meet NCATE and National Council for the Social Studies standards. My work as an assessment coordinator has helped me see more clearly the goals and purposes of setting and meeting standards. I hope to bring that knowledge and experience to service on Teacher Education Council, too.
