VIRGINIA M. DA COSTA

Department: ART

As a faculty member of WCU since 1998, I have applied for and received a number of internal and external grants for Faculty Development. Successful in NEH Summer Institutes (1996 and 2005) and Seminar (1997), Fulbright Hays Summer Seminars Abroad - one in Morocco/Tunisia(2001) and one to Egypt/Israel (2007) as well as a Traditional Fulbright Research Grant (Egypt 2009/10). I have edited grant applications for other colleagues and written numerous letters of support for them. Please consider me as a candidate for the Faculty Grants Development Committee. I would be very pleased to contribute toward the professional development goals for junior faculty as well as tenured faculty. I am enthusiastic about finding other external grant possibilities for WCU faculty especially in the visual and performing arts and humanities.
