David L. Bolton

Department: Professional and Secondary Education

Even though I was not formally elected to the Council on Undergraduate Research, I have been active on the Council since September, 2014. I helped plan the Summer Institute. I interviewed the student members which were elected to the Council, I've attended all the meetings and helped make the decisions which have guided the Council in its development, and I was a presenter at the Summer Institute.

The Council for Undergraduate Research fits well with my educational background and my teaching. My masters degree and my Ph.D. are in the area of educational research and statistics. I've taught research methods and statistics at the undergraduate and graduate level at West Chester University.

I feel a great need to promote undergraduate research on our campus. Students need to be active in searching for new knowledge. I've encouraged our students to pursue research in the College of Education. And I hope to continue my work with the Council.
