Vanessa Johnson

Department: Psychology

I feel that it is important for CAS to maintain a balance between supporting faculty in both their classroom teaching and in other scholarly activities. This is a difficult balance to achieve in a climate of shrinking resources and increasing pressure to improve productivity. Such a climate can make it difficult to attract and maintain excellent faculty and students from a variety of backgrounds. If elected to this committee, I will push to hire a Dean who is sensitive to these issues and who is dedicated to improving support for scholarship.
