Julian L. AzorlosaDepartment: Psychology I have been a local delegate for over 5 years and have been a member of Meet and Discuss for over a year. I welcome the opportunity to represent West Chester University at the state level. Curry Stephenson MalottDepartment: Professional and Secondary Education I am running to be an Alternate State Delegate because I believe it is my responsibility as a state education worker to be actively involved in my union in as many ways as possible. That is, it is my duty to join my fellow workers in defense of our class interests of which management is fundamentally opposed. Workers have a common class interest with their fellow workers against the managerial class who are charged with serving the interests of the capitalist class. Our security is only as strong as our union. Situated in the context of the current era of union-busting, neoliberal policies, it is imperative that union members actively support the union and advance a program of class consciousness among our co-workers because those sitting on the other side of the bargaining table are extremely class conscious. Serving as an Alternate State Delegate (and eventually a State Delegate) will help me further develop my own understanding of the political landscape in which my union operates, which will assist me in becoming a more effective union organizer and defender. Joseph NavitskyDepartment: English As a second-year faculty member in English, I have been involved in APSCUF from my first months on campus as a Department Representative and frequent volunteer for our outreach activities. I look forward to increasing my participation by becoming an Alternate State Delegate. Dr. Rani G. SelvanathanDepartment: Management I have been a faculty member for several tears. My background is in Management Science & constrained optimization. I would like to have the opportunity to understand the other facet of higher education so as to view any situation with a 'big picture' approach. This will certainly enable me to male a more effective contribution to the workings of the Uiversity. Created and copyrighted by Clifford Johnston, 2000-12 |
