Beatrice AderaDepartment: Special Education It would be my great privilege to serve as the College of Education and Social Work representative on the Faculty Mentoring Committee. I am a strong believer in the value of mentoring and have experienced the benefits and rewards as mentee and also a mentor. My hope is to pay it forward through service on this important committee that works hard to facilitate a culture of mentoring at WCU. Thanks in advance for your vote. Vickie Ann McCoyDepartment: Department of Counselor Education Greetings Colleagues! I have been a faculty mentor for 5 years. Prior to that, I was a mentee in the program. I enjoy this work and find it valuable and important. I would like the opportunity to represent the College of Education and Social Work by serving on the Faculty Mentoring Committee. Thank you for considering my request. Jacqueline Van SchooneveldDepartment: Early and Middle Grades Education I look to serve the WCU community on the Faculty Mentoring Committee. This is my fourth year at WCU as an assistant professor, and I have been fortunate throughout my career to have mentors to guide me through different stages. I would like to do the same for others, and be part of a group that creates mentoring experiences. Tina SelvaggiDepartment: Literacy I respectfully submit my nomination to serve as the College of Education and Social Work representative to the Faculty Mentoring Committee. Before joining WCU, I developed and facilitated a mentoring and induction program for teachers in a K-12 school district. I also participated in the mentoring program as a new faculty member and I benefited from the experience. Having a mentor is an important part of transitioning into a new position at WCU and I look forward to being involved with this important committee.
