Having been involved with the Research Consortium since its reconstitution in the Spring of 2002, I am now seeking to increase my role in the organization by serving as Vice President. The past two year’s I have served on the Board as a director, and since 2002, I have been very active in the planning University Research Day committee, an annual event of the Consortium. I believe strongly that faculty research activities are crucial to ensuring the health and strength of a university. These activities contribute significantly to the intellectual vibrancy of the institution, to the development of new course content and often actual courses, to fostering the scholar-teacher model, to a university’s reputation, and to the professional scholarly development of its faculty. Thus, I would continue to work hard to promote institutional support for faculty research across all disciplines and to raise awareness of the research activities in which WCU faculty are engaged. I would be honored to serve as the Consortium's Vice President.
