Karen Dannessa

Department: Department of Applied Music

I would be honored to serve on the WCU Faculty Senate again in order to represent the CVPA and Department of Applied Music within the School of Music. I am currently in my twenty third year of teaching in academe and have served at both unionized and un-unionized institutions. My unique perspective can hopefully help serve and benefit the Faculty Senate at WCU in it's quest to best serve the faculty and students of WCU. Thank you for the consideration.

Bradley Olesen

Department: Music Education

RE: Bradley Olesen, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Music Education - I am entering my name as a candidate for the Faculty Senate representing the College of Visual and Performing Arts at West Chester University. Since arriving at West Chester University in August, I have had the privilege of serving on the CPE committee and the Internationalizing Teacher Preparation Longview Foundation Grant committee. I also have extensive background in design and development for fine-arts facilities/classrooms/theater design (facilities planning, construction documents, acoustics, lighting design, purchasing). My research is centered around quantitative behavioral research and educational program assessment.

In the CVPA, we are engaged in a lifelong process of advocacy. As such, I would bring to the table that which I have promoted my entire career - a clear understanding of the need to hear all sides of the issues, and to provide a fair and just response...all the while advocating for our students and faculty at West Chester University.

I would be honored to have your vote for this Faculty Senate position.

Kimberly Reighley

Department: Applied Music

I would be honored to represent the College of Visual and Performing Arts as a member of the Faculty Senate. I have been teaching at WCU since 2003 and feel I have the experience necessary to promote the needs of our faculty. Since coming to WCU, I have served on the New Faculty Orientation Committee, the University Academic Advising Committee and as the Assessment Coordinator and APSCUF delegate for the Applied Music Department. Prior to my tenure at WCU, I was a local officer for the American Federation of Musicians and gained invaluable experience in my 10 years in office representing the needs of the professional musicians in the local. I feel the Faculty Senate plays a critical role as an advocate for faculty and I look forward to the opportunity to join in their mission. Thank you for your consideration.

Kate Stewart

Department: Art

I have been teaching at WCU since 2006, and more recently have begun my second year as Assistant Professor in the Art Department. While I have been integral in serving my immediate department to achieve important goals we’ve met, including our national accreditation, the successful planning and move of our department into a new building, and the strengthening of the curriculum through the development of a B.F.A. Studio Art capstone program, I would also like to serve the greater university. I had the opportunity to serve as proxy for a fellow faculty member at a recent Faculty Senate meeting, which allowed me to see how the Faculty Senate is key to everything happening now at WCU. I would be honored to receive your vote to serve as one of your CVPA Representatives for Faculty Senate.
