  • This list in not official until nominations have been closed and the list of nominees has been reviewed and verified by the APSCUF Nominations and Elections Committee.

Rules for the Election

    • The election is decided by a plurality of those casting votes.
    • Faculty may be nominated as both a school, college, or non-classroom faculty representative and as an at-large representative; however, candidates elected as a school, college, or non-classroom faculty representative will be removed from the list of nominees for the election of at-large representatives.
    • Each candidate selected counts as a cast vote.

As a librarian at WCU I am fortunate to have regular contact with many students, faculty and staff. These encounters allow me to gain a broad understanding of issues concerning the university. A seat on Faculty Senate would be an ideal opportunity to advance my commitment to student success. Please consider voting for me in my bid to become a Non-classroom Faculty Representative. Jane Hutton


Department: Library Services

I have appreciated the opportunity to serve on the Faculty Senate since fall 2005. In 2006-2007 I served as chair of the Faculty Senate Communications Committee, during which time we revised the Faculty Senate website. I continue to maintain and update the Senate web pages. For the 2007-2008 session I am a member of the Communications Committee and serve as Corresponding Secretary with membership on the Executive Committee. As Electronic Resources Librarian in WCU Library Services, I have a strong interest in connecting people to information and would like to continue to use my interest and skills to foster the work of the Faculty Senate.

Bruce Norris


Department: Educational Development

I welcome the opportunity to become actively involved in the faculty senate. I have been active in several campus activities associated with strategic planning, accreditation and academic advising. I expect to be an advocate for all faculty interests and would represent the unique interests of the non-classroom faculty with enthusiasm.
