Rules for the Election
Kathryn AlessandriaDepartment: Counselor Education I would like to continue representing the College of Education on the Faculty Senate. I have been heavily involved with the Student Welfare Committee's efforts to raise awareness of mental health issues on campus and am looking forward to co-facilitating the pilot of the new WCU CARES program in March. Remaining on the Senate will allow me to see this project through its implementation phase. Cynthia S. HaggardDepartment: PSED The faculty senate is moving in some exciting new directions and I would like to be a part of it. Having served as president of the senate and now on the executive committee I think that I have a lot to contribute. I feel that the senate needs a combination of newer faculty with fresh ideas and seasoned faculty with institutional history to be effective. Lisa J. LucasDepartment: EGP/MGP: College of Education In any organization there is a need for clear and concise communication. I feel the role of a senate representative is to promote the growth and continued improvement of higher education at West Chester University and to facilitate communication and cooperation among all segments of the college community. As a senate representative I would take seriously the responsibility to communicate, investigate and research all matters relevant to the welfare of the faculty of the University. My previous role as a school district administrator has provided me with a skill set to serve as a channel of communication between the faculty and the administration, the faculty and the bargaining agent, and the faculty and the Council of Trustees. My background in communications provided the understanding of the need for efficient, timely communication and the need to solicit input and advocate for faculty concerns in a manner that fosters positive relationships and promotes collaboration with other university-wide committees and task forces.
