Department: Computer Science

I am seeking election as Faculty Senate CSM Representative because I am a firm believer in the power of shared governance to create a transparent, accountable, and thriving academic environment. As an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at West Chester University , my perspective is informed by a unique interdisciplinary background, including doctoral degrees in Computer Science, Evaluation and Measurement, and Mathematics Education. Having served as a Graduate Coordinator and supervised numerous graduate research projects, I understand that the most effective university policies are those rooted in the practical realities of teaching, research, and workload management. With a track record of securing significant research funding and producing an extensive body of peer-reviewed publications, I have consistently demonstrated a commitment to steady, concrete work that supports both faculty and students. If elected, I will approach this role thoughtfully and collaboratively, prioritizing open communication and data-driven insight to ensure that faculty concerns are represented with clarity and constructive purpose during Senate deliberations.

Department: Psychology

Dear colleagues: I am a Professor in the Psychology Department and have served on Faculty Senate since 2014. During my time at WCU, I have been very active on Faculty Senate, serving on the Faculty Senate Executive Committee for six years (Fall 2017 through Spring 2023; four years as an At-Large Member and two years as Corresponding Secretary). I have also worked with the Senate Research Committee in examining issues impacting research/scholarship/creative activities among faculty and students—and in turn, advocating for research support at WCU. Since Fall 2023, I have served on the Faculty Welfare Committee within Senate—and continue to keep an eye and ear out for issues impacting faculty well-being on campus.

I believe strongly in the value of shared governance in higher education and I am very much interested in staying involved in Senate discussions surrounding the issues impacting WCU’s campus climate, faculty, staff, and students. I make an effort to stay informed about issues affecting higher education and how they might impact WCU. I am committed to working diligently to represent faculty interests related to the above issues and regarding other topics of importance. I would appreciate your vote—thank you for your consideration! –Erin
