Premalatha JuniusDepartment: Mathematics Serving my first term as a senate member for the last three years has helped me learn from my colleagues; kept me involved and informed of current issues and challenges at our university. I am also part of a sub-group (faculty senate research and creative activities) and the senate representative for CAPC Diverse Communities Task force. I would like the opportunity to continue serving. My background is mostly in mathematics and physics: I try to look at questions and problems from various angles and share my perspective and ideas with people if they are important. Julie WiestDepartment: Anthropology & Sociology Nearing the end of my second term as a senator, I would be honored to have the opportunity to continue serving my colleagues and the campus community in this capacity. The Faculty Senate is an important shared-governance body on campus, and I take my role as a senator seriously. I have served as a member of the Senate Executive Committee for three years, the last two as Vice President. I also currently serve as the Senate Executive Committee Representative to the APSCUF Executive Committee and Meet & Discuss, as well as chair of the Senate Membership Committee. In recent years, I represented Senate in other capacities, including on search committees for several university-level staff and managerial positions, as well as chairing the search for the first WCU Faculty Ombudsperson. If re-elected, I will continue to work hard as an active senator and run for elected leadership positions to maximize my service efforts. Thank you for considering me for another term on Faculty Senate. Created and copyrighted by Clifford Johnston, 2000-12 |
