Premalatha JuniusDepartment: Mathematics Being a member of Senate will give me an opportunity to work with other members across the university, learning from them, while I contribute my perspective to important decision-making evaluating institutional policy. I have attended senate meetings, but have never been a nominee for senate at West Chester. The workload will be just right for me and not onerous. My background is mostly mathematics, but also physics and chemistry. I like to dig into curricular issues; so have been a proxy for the representative from my department at our university. Having worked with 50 nationalities during the early part of my life, I am interested in West Chester's ties with the other parts of the world. Lia O'BrienDepartment: Psychology I am an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department. I served as a regular proxy in the Faculty Senate during the 2017-2018 academic year, attending all meetings. I would be honored to continue my service in the Faculty Senate. I am passionate about supporting faculty in their many roles at this university. Thank you for your support. Julie WiestDepartment: Anthropology & Sociology I am nearing the end of my first term as a senator and would appreciate the opportunity to continue serving my colleagues and the campus community in this capacity. The Faculty Senate is an important body working for shared governance on campus, and I take my role as a senator seriously. I currently serve on the Student Welfare Subcommittee and am the Faculty Senate representative on the university's Faculty Mentoring Committee, and I previously served as the Senate representative on a search committee for a new position in the Office of Social Equity. If re-elected, I would work toward expanding my involvement by taking on new roles and duties. Thank you for considering me for another term in this important position.
