Department: Psychology

Dear Colleagues,

I write to request your vote in the Faculty Senate Election. The responsibilities of the Senate, though limited in scope, are essential for the successful functioning of the University. I am confident that I will represent you well as a member of the Senate. My interests, experiences, and personal ethics make me a solid choice for this role.

I am interested, first, in the general welfare of faculty and students at WCU. Given my longstanding interest in policy, serving as a Representative to the Senate would be a natural way to do my part to promote this general welfare. With experiences such as completing a U.S. Congressional Fellowship and serving as a state advocacy coordinator for my professional association, I have the policy experience to comfortably advocate for faculty and student welfare as a Representative to the Faculty Senate.

As a proud member of the Psychology Department here at WCU, I am not above promoting psychology as a discipline that provides excellent background for productive participation in committees and working groups! With my understanding of people’s minds and interests, I can often mediate discussions and help individuals find common ground. Above all, I am a people person. I enjoy making new connections and I love talking with people about campus issues. I plan to be accessible to talk with you about issues of the Faculty Senate, and I hope my role as Representative will give me an excuse to know many more of you over the coming months and years.

My personal ethics include hard work, responsibility, integrity, and honesty. You can rest assured that I will work diligently to understand issues that are important for serving you well and that I will carry out thoroughly those responsibilities I am given. I will stand up for issues that are important to us. I will honor my commitment to diversity and will strive to represent all voices on campus. I will always be honest and open with you.

Please contact me with any questions at 436-3153 or ebrown@wcupa.edu.

Make your vote count. Vote Eleanor Brown for Faculty Senate.

Thank you,

Eleanor Brown
