Kristopher Benedict

Department: Art + Design

I am an Assistant Professor of Painting and Drawing from the Department of Art + Design in my fourth year at West Chester. I have been on the faculty senate for the past three years. I would be thrilled to continue my work with the senate and to continue to promote advocacy for the faculty on issues such as shared governance, campus climate and diversity, and the support of faculty research. On a personal note, my involvement with the senate has been extremely valuable to my understanding of the university’s “big picture”. This increased awareness has had a notable positive influence on my work here on a college, department, and classroom level. Thank you very much for considering my nomination!

Department: History

I am an Assistant Professor in the History Department. I served as one of the Temporary Faculty representatives to the Faculty Senate during the 2012-2013 academic year. After being converted to tenure track in 2013, I have served on the Faculty Senate as an At-Large Representative. During my time as a senator, I have served as a member of the Student Welfare Committee and chair of the Faculty Welfare and Ethics Committee. In 2017, I served as one of the two Faculty Senate representatives to the committee that planned President Fiorentino's inauguration. This year, I serve as the Faculty Senate representative to the Strategic Transportation and Parking Task Force. I have enjoyed working with the members of the Faculty Senate on many important issues and would like the opportunity to continue serving. I would appreciate your vote. Thank you.
