I am passionate about supporting faculty in their many roles at West Chester University. Being a member of Senate will help me achieve this goal and will give me an opportunity to work with other members across the university, learning from them and contributing to important decision-making processes at the University. Thank you for considering me for this very important position. Kathleen RileyDepartment: Literacy I am running for a second term in the Faculty Senate because I want to continue to represent my colleagues in the shared governance of WCU during this critical time, especially as it relates to campus climate and equity issues. During my time as chair of the President’s Commission on Women, I gained experience working within and beyond a democratic body to advocate for campus change. If elected, I will bring this leadership experience to my service on the Senate, as well as my roles on the YES Program Executive Committee, a founding member of WCU's Community-Immersive Semester for Educators, the Literacy Coordinator of the ADP program. Thank you for considering my candidacy. Heather SchugarDepartment: Literacy As current Past President and former President of the Faculty Senate, I am committed to the work that the WCU Senate does to promote a positive campus climate and foster diversity and inclusion. In my previous three terms on Senate, I have been an active participant in advocating for the Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, counseling support, research initiatives, and other concerns brought to us from the campus community. With your vote, I seek the opportunity to continue my role as a participant in WCU's shared governance model. Gretchen Studlien-WebbDepartment: Theatre and Dance I have been on the faculty at WCU for 25 years. The majority of my service has been focused departmentally as the program coordinator for dance and evaluation chair for the department of theatre and dance. I am interested in joining the Faculty Senate and contributing to a positive campus climate in a new way. Veronica WilburDepartment: Nursing I am in my fifth year as faculty at WCU and have been an At-Large member of Faculty Senate since 2017.
