Daniel Cherry

Department: Applied Music

I have just completed one term as an at large representative to the Faculty Senate, and I have found this group to be an effective advocate for the entire University community. I would like to continue to contribute to WCU through my service in the Faculty Senate, and I would consider it an honor to be elected to another term. Thank you.

Erin Hill

Department: Psychology

I am an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department and have served as a college representative on Faculty Senate for the past three years. During my time on Faculty Senate, I have worked with the Research Committee in examining issues impacting research/ scholarship among faculty and students. I am very much interested in staying involved in Senate discussions surrounding the issues central to WCU’s campus climate, faculty, and students. I make an effort to stay informed about issues affecting higher education and how those issues may affect WCU. I believe strongly in the value of public education, and plan to advocate for our continued opportunity to provide high quality, affordable education. I am committed to working diligently to represent faculty interests on this and other issues of importance. I would appreciate your vote.

Kathleen Riley

Department: Literacy

I am running for a position on the Faculty Senate because I want to represent my colleagues in the shared governance of WCU, especially as it relates to campus climate and equity issues. As the current Co-Chair of the President’s Commission on Women, a member of the YES Program Executive Committee, and the Literacy Coordinator for the Academic Development Program, I have experience working within and beyond democratic bodies to advocate for positive campus change at WCU.

Last year I was honored to serve on the Faculty Senate as a year-long proxy. Having that experience allowed me to collaborate with faculty across the university. I would like to be an at-large representative because I believe in the mission of shared governance.

Over the past 6 years, I have been actively engaged in advocating for campus climate as a member of Faculty Senate. Currently I serve as the Vice President of Faculty Senate as well as chair of the Membership subcommittee, and with your vote, I would value the opportunity to continue my role as a participant in WCU's shared governance model.

Faculty Senate functions to provide a voice for all constituencies of West Chester University. Currently, I have the privilege to currently be a proxy for Faculty Senate for one year and would be honored to become the Member-at-Large. I feel the advisory nature of this body is critical to the foundation of West Chester University as a whole. Please consider appointing me to this position
