Phyllis A. Belak

Department: Accounting

Hi Colleagues, I am looking for your support as I seek election to the faculty senate. Although I would be new to this committee, I want to be involved in advocating and evaluating university policy. As accounting professor, current criminal justice graduate student, and alumna of WCUPA, I am committed to the continued success of the university. Thanks for your consideration.

Brian Bowen

Department: Mathematics

The Faculty Senate is a critical group within the University, providing the opportunity for the voice of the faculty to be heard in terms of critical issues. During my three years on the Faculty Senate I have witnessed and participated in the positive impact that this can have on our campus atmosphere. I look forward to continuing to work on this process for a second term. Thank you.

James Scythes

Department: History

I served as one of the Temporary Faculty representatives to the Faculty Senate during the 2012-2013 academic year. After being converted to tenure track in 2013, I spent the 2013-2014 academic year as an Interim Senator. This year I served on the Faculty Senate as an At-Large Representative and am currently a member of the Student Welfare Committee. I have enjoyed working with the members of the Faculty Senate on many important issues and would like the opportunity to continue serving. I would appreciate your vote for me as an At-Large Faculty Senate Representative.

Julie Wiest

Department: Anthropology & Sociology

I have served as a Faculty Senate proxy for two years. Although I have enjoyed serving in this capacity, I would be honored to represent the faculty with an at-large seat on Senate. I take very seriously the need for this body and would work hard to help ensure that faculty needs are addressed and that faculty perspectives are considered in university decision-making. In addition, Senate provides a fantastic opportunity for a junior faculty member (such as myself) to become more familiar with university operations and actively participate in the university community. Thank you for considering me.
