Rules for the Election

    • Candidate must receive a majority of the votes cast to successfully win this election.
    • This election is for 2 seats with different terms. The candidate with the highest vote count will be elected to the seat with the longer term--spring 2025--provided they have a majority of votes cast. Once the seat with the longer term is filled, that candidate and any other ineligible candidates will be removed. Of the remaining candidates, the candidate with the highest vote total will be seated for the shorter term--spring 2024.
    • If any seats remain open because of the rules above, a run-off election between the top two eligible vote-getters will be held.
    • If there are two or fewer candidates, each candidate will be voted on by an approve/disapprove ballot. The candidate with the higher approval votes will fill the seat with the longer term.
    • Each ballot submitted counts as a cast vote.

Thank you for reading my statement for the College of Health Sciences Representative for Sabbatical and Educational Leave Committee.

If elected to this committee, I look forward to advocating for faculty in securing sabbatical and educational leave. I would promote holding workshops for faculty to assist them in understanding the policies for sabbatical and educational leave. I would also advocate for trainings in designing proposals that lead to approval for their research efforts during their sabbatical or educational leave. Another area of importance is designing proposals for funding for faculty research during the sabbatical.

I have served on the Sabbatical Committee for the last two years and would like to continue my service on the committee for another term. I have enjoyed learning what wonderful projects our colleagues all over the university have proposed as well as my role in the selection process. I would appreciate your continued support of my candidacy.
