Department: Biology

Hello, I am a Professor in the Biology Department and have been teaching at West Chester for almost 18 years. I have loved teaching courses in science education, mycology, and plant biology to both graduate and undergraduate students over this time. My teaching was greatly facilitated by a sabbatical I was awarded some years ago as it allowed me to rework course curricula, develop new labs, and rethink my research goals. Ultimately, I learned that a sabbatical gives us quality time to refresh and rethink our career trajectories, which benefits all we do. I am thankful that I pursued mine at the urging of a couple of faculty friends who were involved in the committee in prior years. Thus, I’d like to have an opportunity to do the same by serving on the Sabbatical and Educational Leave Committee for our college. It would be an honor to work to help those of you considering a sabbatical and I’d appreciate your consideration.
