Department: Accounting

I believe that sabbatical leaves are an important aspect of academia because they allow faculty members to take time off to reflect on their work and engage in further professional development in teaching and research. This, in turn, contributes to the improvement of the institution.

A well-functioning sabbatical leave committee should ensure that faculty members meet the eligibility criteria for the leave, that the proposal is appropriate and feasible, and that the terms of the leave are consistent with the institution's policies.

I would like to help ensure that the sabbatical leave program is administered fairly and transparently in accordance with WCU's policies. By doing so, I could support the professional development of WCU faculty members and ultimately contribute to the growth, excellence, and reputation of WCU.
