APSCUF By-laws

Department: APSCUF

Per the WCU APSCUF bylaws, amendments to the chapter bylaws can be made by vote of a majority of delegates at local representative council. Amendments to the bylaws have been approved by the delegates. These amendments have also been approved by the APSCUF State Rules and Bylaws Committee. The final stage is ratification of the bylaws by the general membership. The proposed amended bylaws can be viewed here (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NvRCx_RamNNU86qBQI8LHvYJnyNF6Qa8J7jwYPxHiUw/edit). For comparison’s sake, you may access the current chapter bylaws on the chapter website: https://www.apscuf.org/universities/wcu/.

The proposed revisions include the following:

  • The replacement of the Grievance Committee with a Member Support and Contract Enforcement Committee
  • Addition of a Member Support Chair to be selected from the membership of the Social Justice Committee
  • Ability of the Executive Committee to conduct business via email between meetings
  • Addition of the Adjunct Committee chair(s) as voting members of the Executive Committee
  • Making the membership of committee chairs in statewide committees consistent with state bylaws
  • Making language related to coaches consistent with state bylaws
  • Timing of the election of the Election and Nominations committee moved to the last meeting of the year of the representatives council
  • Gender neutral language through using singular they/them/their.
