KIM DOAN

Department: Dept of Special Education

Hello! I would like to submit my name for the Faculty Mentoring Commmittee. I was a mentee the first 2 years at WCU so I understand how important it is to receive mentoring. I then served as a mentor to 3 different faculty in departments outside of my college. I have been on campus 13 years and feel I can provide the support that new mentors need in order to mentor junior faculty. If I am elected, I would like to explore how we can support our junior faculty of color. Retaining diverse faculty is an important focus to me and an issue I'd like to bring more attention to. Thank you for considering me.

Dawn Patterson

Department: Special Education

As a faculty member who has recently experienced the Tenure and Promotion process, I am invested in supporting junior faculty through the journey of becoming integrated into WCU and achieving their Tenure and Promotion. Personally, I am a very supportive and genuine person, which are important qualities for this position. I want to offer others the encouragement and knowledge needed. I appreciate your consideration.
