Department: Instrumental Music I would be honored to represent the Wells School of Music on the Faculty Mentoring Committee. In my role as Chair of Instrumental Music I truly enjoy engaging with faculty members to discuss and support their academic and scholarly pursuits, and I am excited by the possibility of expanding these peer interactions and mentoring faculty across campus. I enjoy helping our instrumental music temporary faculty navigate institutional processes and resources, thereby enabling them to successfully support our students. I would appreciate the opportunity to share the advice and support that I’ve received during my 16 years as a temporary, regular part-time, tenure-track, and tenured WCU faculty member. I have long been interested in the positive outcomes associated with mentoring, as my dissertation research examined the impact of undergraduate music peer mentoring. I would be glad to serve as a mentoring resource for our campus community as part of the Faculty Mentoring Committee.
