Department: Nutrition

Hello Colleagues: I seek your support in continuing my service as a member of the Faculty Mentoring Committee. As former co-chair, mentor, and mentee, I have had the pleasure of working with faculty across campus to expand the faculty mentoring program. The mentor/mentee relationships and work on this committee have been an essential part of the academic experience and one of the most meaningful of my service opportunities. My success would not have been possible without fantastic mentoring from other faculty. Your support will provide me the opportunity to continue to pay this forward through my service on this committee. Thank you for your time, consideration, and support to continue my service on the FMC.

Emmaline Ellis

Department: Early and Middle Grades Education

I am currently in my first year as a faculty member at WCU and a mentee in the Faculty Mentoring Program (FMP). As a new tenure-track faculty member, I understand the importance of the mentor-mentee relationship and the impact it can have on our success in this new role. I believe in FMP’s Mission to foster mentoring partnerships among faculty to enhance lifelong professional learning in teaching, scholarship, and service, and I am eager to collaborate with fellow Committee Members to further develop and expand mentoring opportunities for faculty at every career stage on WCU's campus. I would be honored to serve as an FMP Committee Member - thank you for your consideration.

Department: Public Health Sciences

Thank you for taking the time to read this statement. I am forever grateful to the mentor that was assigned to me and owe much of my success at West Chester to her suggestions, guidance, and encouragement. My goal in serving on this committee is to return that investment in my success to current and new faculty hires who are in need of a mentor. I hope to share my lessons learned with faculty and encourage them in their mentee / mentor journey. I wish to be a service to my colleagues in assisting them in matching with a person who will be critical to their success at WCU. Thank you for your vote and support.
