Department: Music Theory, History and Composition

As a new faculty, I hope to contribute to the on-going development of scholarship and creative activities of WCU faculty and help to administer the University’s grant competition. With my diverse experience in academic research and arts administration I will be able to evaluate scholarly and creative project proposals and support opportunities best for WCU faculty. I have a keen interest and diverse experience working on research grants and artistic funding opportunities. As a music historian, I have received university and national grants for my research projects, such as the National Endowment for Humanities, Mellon Foundation dissertation grant, and the Stanford-Freie Universität zu Berlin fellowship. In addition, I have administered grants for faculty-student research workshops and educational projects in the arts for the St. Lawrence String Quartet and the New Crown Hope Festival in Vienna.
