Deanne Z. Bonifazi

Department: Psychology

I have been on the faculty of WCU since 1991. Currently, I am Graduate Coordintor for the Psychology Department. My area of psychology is Clinical Psychology and my research primarily focuses on eating disorders. Last year I received an FDC Award to support a prevention program for eating disorders. I would now like to serve on the Faculty Development Committee. I feel it would be a wonderful opportunity to help other faculty with their scholarly pursuits.

Felix Goodson

Department: Chemistry

Over the past three years, I have been fortunate enough to have received funding from both internal and external agencies. This success has enabled me both to expand my scholarly research and to give students the opportunity to experience first-hand what scientific research is all about. The Faculty Development Committee has been an important part of my early success in this area. If elected, I will look forward to using my experience to help other faculty obtain external funding and develop further their scholarly pursuits.

Judith Scheffler

Department: English

Currently I serve on the CASSDA Committee, which funds faculty projects in the College of Arts and Sciences. I was a member of the University Faculty Development Committee from 1989 to 1991. In these positions I have gained experience working with an interdisciplinary faculty committee to review with fairness a wide range of project proposals from many disciplines. I believe that faculty development and research must be valued and rewarded on campus, and I would welcome the opportunity to serve on the University Faculty Development Committee again.
