Department: Educational Foundations and Policy Studi For the last five years, I've been an active member of the Council for Undergraduate Research. During that time, I've been its chair as well as its co-chair, which is my current position, helping to guide the work of the Council. As a member of the Council, I've helped organize and carry out the Summer Undergraduate Research Institute. Last year, Dr. Megan Corbin, the current chair, and I founded Ramifications, the new undergraduate research journal, which is currently preparing to publish its first issue. I have a passion for undergraduate research and want to continue this work and expand opportunities and support for undergraduate research at WCU.

Department: Early and Middle Grades Education I would be honored to serve on the WCU-CUR with colleagues to continue this important work that benefits so many students and faculty on campus. During my four years at WCU, I have been a member of the Developing Research Agendas through Mentoring (DREAM) program to strengthen my own research and a member of the Research and Creative Activities Advisory Board (RCAAB) to support faculty research on campus. I was recently awarded a Provost Research Grant (PRG) where I will partner with pre-service teachers to conduct research in the classroom related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) pedagogy and would greatly enjoy the opportunity to be involved in promoting more partnerships with undergraduate students in research across campus.
