Rules for the Election

    • Only non-classroom faculty may be nominated in this election.
    • Each department can have at most three representatives on CAPC.
    • The election is decided by a plurality of those casting votes unless such results violate the previous rule or the number of candidates does not exceed the number of positions to fill. In the later case, each candidate will be voted on by an approve/disapprove ballot.
    • Each ballot submitted counts as a cast vote.
    • Members elected to at-large seats cannot be nominated for department representative seats.
    • Seats with longer terms will be filled first. In the case of an approve/disapprove ballot, candidates will be ranked according to number of approve votes.
    • This is a university-wide election.

Marie Wilcom Bunner


Department: IDS & Academic Support Programs

It would be a privilege to serve as a department representative for non-classroom faculty for the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies and Academic Support Programs in University College.

I have served on the Writing Emphasis Subcommittee of the CAPC General Education Committee since 2018. As the department Chair, I am familiar with curriculum development, proposals, and reviews for the programs in our department and the collaborative efforts that serve students across the university. As an academic advisor in the Academic Success Program (ASP), I advise all first-year ASP students including students with declared majors, and all exploratory upper-level ASP students. This role requires knowledge of the general education programs, majors across the university, and collaboration with departments to keep up to date on information about specific majors and program changes. This experience will help me to successfully fulfill the requirements of this role. Thank you for your consideration.
