Francis Atuahene

Department: USSSS/ Educational Development Services

Hi Colleagues: I respectfully submit my nomination to serve on this august body in our institution. I have previously served on CAPC on various committees and in different capacities – for example, Undergraduate Program Committee, Undergraduate Policy Committee, UGPC Vice Chair, UGPC Ex-Officio member, etc. During this period, I enjoyed working collaboratively with faculty from different colleges and departments helping with policies and curriculum reviews. While I contributed to the various committees I served on, the most important experience was I learned from these groups. As a faculty working closely with students, I bring two levels of experience to this committee – providing direct support for our faculty in their various program proposals, and guidance to committee members on policies and procedures that enhance student success. It will be an honor to represent these voices on CAPC again.

Thank you for your vote!

Francis Atuahene

Department: Nursing

I have been teaching in the nursing department for 19 years and have previously served on CAPC. In my new role as simulation faculty (new non-classroom position) for the nursing and college of health sciences, I am excited to help faculty use innovative strategies to meet curricular goals. In these roles I have become aware of the importance of quality educational programs and policies that support individual departmental accreditation standards and student success. I would like to serve once again on CAPC and uphold the high standards of the educational programs and policies at WCU.
