Whitney Katirai

Department: Health

I would be pleased to continue my service to the Department of Health as a CAPC representative. I have served the Department for the last three years as a member of the Gen-Ed and Graduate Policies and Curriculum committees. I feel that after the last three years, I have an in-depth understanding of the policy and curriculum approval process. I have greatly enjoyed meeting many new WCU colleagues by serving as a member of CAPC, and cultivating those inter-disciplinary relationships. I would be honored to have your vote, and continue my service to the Department of Health as well as the West Chester University community.

Donald McCown

Department: Health

It would be an honor for me to serve as CAPC representative for the Health department. I am completing my seventh year at WCU and have led significant initiatives in curricular development, including the design and coordination of the interdisciplinary undergraduate minor in Contemplative Studies (now in its fourth year, with an average enrollment of 50), and design and coordination of the graduate certificate in Applied Mindfulness (now completing its first year with its first cohort of 18—21 already registered for 2019-20). I have a significant interest in experiential and reflective dimensions in design and assessment, and am particularly intrigued by interdisciplinary collaborations. As the vast majority of my scholarship and research is devoted to contemplative pedagogy, I hope very much to make a contribution to the university through work on CAPC. Thank you for considering me for this position.
