Nominations close Apr 9, 2014.
Regular Faculty in the College of Health may be nominated.

Rules for the Election

    • Faculty wishing to be considered for BOTH an At-Large seat and a college seat must self-nominate in BOTH elections. No more than three faculty from any department may serve on CAPC simultaneously and no more than two faculty from any department may hold College seats. At-Large elections will conclude prior to the College Seat elections. (Effective starting spring 2012).
    • Each department can have at most two representatives on CAPC.
    • The election is decided by a plurality of those casting votes unless such results violate the previous rule or the number of candidates does not exceed the number of positions to fill. In the later case, each candidate will be voted on by an approve/disapprove ballot.
    • Vacant seats will be filled one at a time with the current vacant seat filled by the candidate with the highest vote count. As each seat is filled, the candidate filling that seat and any other candidates from the same department as the candidate filling that seat will be disqualified. Votes cast for disqualified candidates, as just defined, will not be considered in filling remaining vacant seats.
    • Each candidate selected counts as a cast vote.
    • Members elected to at-large seats cannot be nominated for school representative seats.
    • Seats with longer terms will be filled first. In the case of an approve/disapprove ballot, candidates will be ranked according to number of approve votes.

Department: Sports Medicine

I am in my 7th year as member of the Sports Medicine Department and I am seeking your support to serve on CAPC for the upcoming term. I have had the privilege of regularly serving as a graduate committee member as well as being an active department curriculum committee member over the past several years. I am energized with some of the exciting changes that I have seen over my tenure at WCU. I have had the pleasure of serving as a proxy at CAPC and am eager to become an active member and provide continued support to the WCU community and our continued success and growth.

Marjorie Kathleen Ellis

Department: KIN

I am finishing my first year on the CAPC program review subcommittee which has allowed me the opportunity to gain greater insight on how programs are viewed as successful or requiring improvement. Such experience, along with the multiple new courses and programs which I have proposed, has allowed me insight on the integral importance of CAPC as a whole. This has also allowed me to use my expertise and apply it to program review and development.

I have a long-standing interest of being involved with the CAPC undergraduate program review committee and would appreciate the opportunity to serve CHS in this respect. Thank you for your consideration!
