David J. Delgado, PhD

Department: Health

I wish to be considered for serving on the Divisional seat for the College of Health Sciences. I welcome the opportunity to bring my energies and talents to CAPC and assist departments in curricular development and review. Teaching seven different courses over the last four semesters gave me an excellent opportunity to engage in curriculum development. I am interested in two strategies to deepen the students’ learning experiences: (1) integrating technical skills, such as data retrieval/analysis, into courses, in order to elevate undergraduate capabilities in information synthesis; and (2) introducing community service learning experiences into courses. I am very interested in general education and desire to serve CAPC in related committee and subcommittee work, especially as it relates to interdisciplinary and diversity courses.

Department: Nursing

I have been a faculty member at West Chester in the Department of Nursing for 12 years now and would like to serve the College of Health Sciences and University on this committee. I have served as the nursing department’s curriculum chairperson for the last 3 years. Through this role I have become aware of the importance of quality educational programs and policies to support student learning. I will work to uphold the high standards of the educational programs and policies at WCU. Our nursing curriculum has been successfully accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and I believe my experience will be helpful as the college and university prepares for the Middle States Review.
