Rules for the Election
Beatrice AderaDepartment: Special Education This is my sixth year as a faculty member in the Special Education Department. I serve as the coordinator for student teaching supervision and member of our department curriculum committee. I am also the department representative to CPE Field Experiences Committee and a member of the CAPC Culture Cluster sub- committee. During my time at WCU, I have had the opportunity to co-author the development of new courses that are part of the Autism minor, currently being offered by our department. I have also had the chance to redesign two upper-level undergraduate courses to hybrid format and three graduate courses to an online format. These experiences helped me gain some insight on how the CAPC process works including the different components that are important for course and program success. Serving as one of the College of Education representatives on CAPC will equip me with additional knowledge and experience in curricular review and development as we continue to collaborate on strengthening our curricular programs and policies. Thanks in advance for you vote. Mary A. HouserDepartment: Special Education It is my desire to serve as a CAPC College of Education and Social Work Department representative. I will begin my fourth year at WCU in the fall. I have five years of past experience as a special education curriculum developer (graduate-level) where I served as a subject matter expert in the area of autism and designed several courses for an M.Ed.in Special Education. I have served as a co-chair for the COE Assessment and Accreditation committee for the past year and a half and would like to combine and expand my knowledge in these two areas through serving on CAPC. In addition, I currently serve as the chair of the COE Technology Resources and Planning Committee. Created and copyrighted by Clifford Johnston, 2000-12 |
