Department: Biology As a junior faculty member at WCU, I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to join CAPC and begin dedicating my time at the University-level on top of the department-level roles I currently serve. I intend to bring a fresh viewpoint to how the academic curriculum and policies are shaped and organized to better serve the education of our students. As we transition from virtual learning back to standard in-person learning, it is clear that we will need to incorporate some of the techniques and methodologies we employed over the past year into the future curriculum. Although this likely entails adding more online/hybrid courses for greater flexibility, we need to make sure it is done in the correct way to preserve the values of a WCU education, while also making updates to better serve the students we teach. In summary, I would be honored and excited to serve as the CAPC representative for the Biology Department.
