Rules for the Election

    • Each department can have at most three representatives on CAPC.
    • The election is decided by a plurality of those casting votes unless such results violate the previous rule or the number of candidates does not exceed the number of positions to fill. In the later case, each candidate will be voted on by an approve/disapprove ballot.
    • Each ballot submitted counts as a cast vote.
    • Members elected to at-large seats cannot be nominated for department representative seats.

Marc Gagne


Department: Geology and Astronomy

I am a professor in the Department of Earth and Space Sciences in my 19th year at WCU. I've never served on CAPC. I'm a member of my department's curriculum committee, I served on faculty senate, and served two terms as a department chair. CAPC plays a vital role in the academic life of our university, and I would be honored to serve. I understand the rigors of serving on CAPC and its subcommittees and I look forward to dedicating myself to the work.
