Julian Onderdonk

Department: Music Theory, History and Composition

Having served on Faculty Senate, as long-term Exec Committee member and as President (Fall 2008, 2010-12), I'm enthusiastic about working with CAPC and involving myself in the curricular affairs of the university. Academic programs are constantly growing and changing, in response to faculty expertise and vision, and I'm excited to help expedite the process by which those changes and vision are actualized. Students are the ultimate beneficiaries of faculty efforts and innovation and I very much hope to strengthen their experience, and WCU's overall educational climate, by serving diligently and respectfully.

Michael Pearson

Department: Communication Studies

It has been over 10 years since I last served on CAPC. I was an active member for 12 years (do the math...yes, I'm old) and, during my time on CAPC, I served as Chair of the Program Review Committee, as a member of the Executive Board and as the Executive Secretary. I retired from CAPC because I was going on sabbatical and because being a member of CAPC for more than 12 years in a row is a danger to one's sanity.

I taught high school for 8 years before coming to WCU (my god, I'm getting older by the sentence) and my first love is teaching. I work well with others (I was President of the Faculty Senate before joining CAPC) and I believe that humor and reasoned arguments are important. I also believe in being open to change and innovation. I will do my best to represent the faculty and be open to their ideas.

Nancy Witmer

Department: Music Education

I respectfully submit my self-nomination to become a member of the Curriculum and Academic Policies Council. As an instructor of music education for over fourteen years at two institutions, I have come to appreciate the importance of the faculty voice in the design of curriculum and the establishment of academic policies. I look forward to working with colleagues throughout the entire university and contributing to the outstanding academic work at West Chester University.
