Rules for the Election
Randall CreamDepartment: English If trusted with your vote, I pledge to build a transparent connection between the work of CAPC and the departments and programs of the College of Arts and Humanities. I promise to listen closely and inform quickly. I've been fortunate to serve on CAPC Undergraduate Programs Committee for a year, and I was awed at the scope and importance of that representative body. As Assessment Coordinator and part of a team building interdisciplinary programs in CAH, I know first hand the significance of participation in shared governance. I am eager to serve my colleagues, our college, and our students in the very important work of CAPC. Eric FournierDepartment: History As a firm believer in shared governance and faculty control over the curriculum, I am eager to serve as the Department of History’s representative on CAPC. I have some experience with CAPC through the programmatic changes to the History MA program completed during my tenure as the department graduate coordinator. I would deeply appreciate the opportunity to contribute to CAPC and to help my colleagues navigate future curriculum advances and changes. I appreciate your support in providing me with the opportunity to serve on this crucial University committee. Brent RuswickDepartment: History I served on CAPC in the Spring 2015 semester as a substitute for a colleague on sabbatical. Reviewing courses for "I" designation for CAPC motivated my submission of two new courses for approval, and the re-submission of one of those courses for "I" approval. In addition to my involvement with CAPC, I also have served as co-chair for the Secondary Education Forum, which studies inter-college curricular issues, and the History Department's Undergraduate Committee, which is responsible for making curricular recommendations to our department. I always enjoy a chance to learn from colleagues and to discuss curriculum, and would appreciate this opportunity to do so. Kate StewartDepartment: Art and Design One of the most exciting and important aspects of serving on CAPC is the opportunity to take part in the shared governance of our institution. Within the Department of Art + Design I have contributed to the successful national accreditation of the BFA program, in addition to serving in a variety of other capacities on curriculum-driven committees which have aided in the evolution of our program. My interest in serving on CAPC also stems from my service on several university committees including Faculty Senate, the Sustainability Advisory Council, the Brandywine Workshop Planning Committee, the Poetry Center Faculty Advisory Board and as an APSCUF department representative. I would be honored to receive your vote to serve on CAPC as a representative from Art + Design and look forward to the opportunity. Elizabeth UrbanDepartment: History I am excited to run as the History department's CAPC representative. Because I am dedicated to pursuing curricular excellence at West Chester, I currently serve on the Women's and Gender Studies curriculum committee and am taking the Office of Distance Education's online faculty development course. For the past two years, I have been an active member of the history department (Drayer committee, elections committee), and I would bring this same spirit of activity, dedication, and transparency to CAPC. Thank you for considering my candidacy. Created and copyrighted by Clifford Johnston, 2000-12 |
