Cristobal Cardemil-Krause

Department: Laguages and Cultures

I've participated in my department's curriculum committee and submitted a number of courses through CAPC. I understand the importance of curriculum development at university level and would be honored to work with colleagues from across disciplines and schools.

Meg Niiler

Department: Laguages and Cultures

My research interests focus on improving teaching and learning quality at all levels of language teaching, this has put me in dialogue with the fields of composition, psychology, literacy and education. I am interested in serving on CAPC because I feel that my multi-disciplinary background would be useful in examining course, program and certificate proposals.

Marci Lynn Major Petrovich

Department: Music Education

I am interested in serving on the CAPC committee so I can become involved in the curricular decisions and outcomes at West Chester. I have experience working with curriculum development in several public schools and at the university level.

E. Simon Ruchti

Department: Women's and Gender Studies

I have served on CAPC for the last three years and would very much like the opportunity to continue this important work. During my time on CAPC, I have served on the Academic Review Committee and co-chaired the Low-Enrollment Advisory Subcommittee. I have also been active in the development of our new general education curriculum. Beyond CAPC, I have helped the Philosophy Department update our courses to meet university-wide policies and served on the Curriculum Committee for Women's and Gender Studies and will work this summer to revise our curriculum as we transition from a program to a department. I believe my diverse experience with curricular development makes me a strong asset to CAPC and the university.

Megan Saltzman

Department: Laguages and Cultures

As a faculty member in the Department of Languages and Cultures for four years, I have actively particpated in curricular revision and oversight. I would like to now apply those skills to university-wide curriculum planning, policy, and implementation. CAPC seems an ideal place to enrich my knowledge in this area. Because my approach to teaching and research in the global humanities is inherently interdisciplinary, I believe I can contribute a great deal to CAPC. Thank you for your consideration.

Elizabeth Staruch

Department: Theatre and Dance

My name is Liz Staruch and I am faculty in the Department of Theatre and Dance. I previously served on CAPC for a one-year term. I supported the work of CAPC as a member of the Academic Review committee and co-chaired the Program Review committee for three years. On behalf of my department and CVPA this year, I co-chaired Theatre and Dance’s reaccreditation process and in 2012 assisted in the overhaul of our department curriculum to bring the BA Theatre program in line with the Board of Governor’s mandate. All of these experiences serve as inspiration to deepen my commitment of service to the university in terms of curricular issues. I would be honored to serve again on CAPC and would appreciate your vote.

Juliet Wunsch

Department: Theatre and Dance

I am a member of the Department of Theatre and Dance, and would be honored to have your support to continue my service to CAPC.

I have served as a member of CAPC since 2010: working on the Policy Committee as well as the General Education Committee. This past term, I served the faculty in the role of the Distributive Sub-Committee Chair. In this position, I have had the opportunity to support a growing University wide understanding of how to unify class and departmental goals with the goals of the university-wide General Education Program. The conversation is a two way street: faculty work to demonstrate that their classes meet the General Education goals, but the assessment of general education goals must also morph to embrace the diverse skillsets and forms of assessments already in use by faculty.

I am a good fit for CAPC because I have a strong interest in understanding student learning. I am open minded and willing to recognize the unique needs of Colleges, Departments and Co-Curricular venues. I have a strong desire to understand the “big picture”. I am a committed team member, and strong collaborator.

I would greatly appreciate your continued support, and look forward to serving on CAPC.
