    • Faculty can nominate themselves for both at-large and college specific seats.

    • Each department can have at most two representatives on CAPC.

Votes cast for disqualified candidates, as just defined, will not be considered in filling remaining vacant seats.
    • Each candidate selected counts as a cast vote.
    • Members elected to at-large seats cannot be nominated for school representative seats.
    • Seats with longer terms will be filled first. In the case of an approve/disapprove ballot, candidates will be ranked according to number of approve votes.
    • INELIGIBLE DEPARTMENTS FOR THIS NOMINATION PERIOD, DUE TO THE 2 SEAT QUOTA PER DEPARTMENT ARE MAT and COM; THEREFORE, NO MEMBERS FOR THOSE DEPARTMENTS ARE ELIGBLE FOR NOMINATION

Laurie Bernotsky

Department: Political Science

I have been serving as member of CAPC for the past several years. During this time I have chaired the Diverse Communities Committee, the General Education Committee, and I currently serve as the CAPC Chair. The work CAPC does is essential to the university and I am committed to this aspect of shared governance at WCU. I believe my experience will be valuable for the work that lies ahead, so I would like to continue to serve on this committee. I would welcome your support as I seek another term.

Mary Brewster

Department: Criminal Justice

In the past, I have served several terms on CAPC in various roles including SBPA representative, at-large representative, Chairperson of the General Education Committee, and Vice Chairperson of CAPC. After taking a brief respite from the committee to pursue research endeavors, I hope to now have the opportunity to serve again on this important committee.

Judith Greenamyer

Department: Biology

I have served on CAPC for several years, and would like to continue to help work out the numerous problems that arise as Harrisburg and the BOG become more and more intrusive in our curriculum. In addition to CAPC experience, I bring my experience as a graduate coordinator, department assistant chair, and former department chair, to this position.

Rodney Mader

Department: English

I have served on CAPC for the past two years. During that time, I have served on the General Education Committee and chaired the subcommittee for Diverse Communities Courses. I would like the opportunity to continue doing so because the work is stimulating and important, and because programmatic continuity is beneficial. I promise to work hard and be friendly. We are fortunate to have such a strong system of faculty governance at WCU, and I would consider it an honor to serve as an At-Large Representative.

Vicki McGinley

Department: Early Childhood and Special Education

Since my tenure at WCU I have had the opportunity to be involved in extensive curriculum revision at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I have found this to be exciting work. More recently, I have been involved in the development of a new certificate program. I would like to apply what I have learned to service on this important university committee. I have served on a number of other university committees such as Faculty Development and Tenure, Evaluation and Promotion and have valued my interaction and collaboration with colleagues from across the university. I would look forward and be honored to serve.

Loretta Rieser-Danner

Department: Psychology

Students come to WCU with a wide variety of talents, skills, academic abilities, and strengths. I believe our curriculum and academic policies should reflect and address this variety in our attempt to prepare students for an ever-changing world. To this end, I believe that a variety of pedagogical approaches are useful as we help students meet both general and specific learning objectives. As a CAPC member during the past two years, I have enjoyed working with others interesed in curricular and policy issues and have learned a great deal about the many ways in which the WCU faculty serve the educational needs of our students. I would welcome the opportunity to continue to serve as a member of CAPC, hopefully contributing in a positive manner to curricular and policy development and, simultaneously, learning more about the variety of creative and effective pedagogical strategies implemented by our faculty.
