Charles Hardy III

Department: History

For close to a decade now, I have served as a department of history APSCUF delegate. I was also a member of the strike committees during the last two contract negotiations, and currently serve on the local grievance committee. In these capacities I have been able observe, first-hand, how APSCUF protects the quality of public higher education in the state of Pennsylvania and at West Chester. I am reluctant to take on yet more work at WCU. My conviction in the importance of the union, however, has led me to run for vice-president. I am not sure what special talents or skills, if any, I could bring to that position. If elected, I would work to better communicate to junior faculty the vital roles that APSCUF plays on this campus and to improve their understanding of faculty’s role in university governance.
