Rules for the Election
Blaise FrostDepartment: chemistry Hello, my name is Blaise Frost, and I am a member of the Chemistry Dept. I would greatly appreciate your vote supporting my candidacy for an APSCUF Statewide Delegate Alternate position. I have served APSCUF faithfully for all of my nearly 30 years here at WCU. Locally I have been a department delegate to the Local Assemblies (and I am currently an alternate for our dept.) I have been department job action committee chair, and Vice-President and Secretary of APSCUF-WCU. I have been a Statewide Delegate and an alternate as well in the past. I have the time and the drive to serve in this capacity. Please consider my name when voting and thank you for your time. Gabrielle HalkoDepartment: English I seek your vote as State Delegate so that I may contribute to the strength of our union at the state level. I deliberately chose to teach at a school with an active faculty union and appreciate the many benefits that a union offers; that said, no union is perfect, and I look forward to collaborating on problem-solving and helping APSCUF to fully represent all of its members. Thanks for your consideration! Erin HurtDepartment: English I have served the past two years as an APSCUF state delegate, and through this service I have begun to learn how our union functions at the state level. I would like to continue as a state delegate, because I would like to work on pushing for statewide changes that match what we've begun to do on our campus, especially as it relates to our faculty disciplinary process and our union's culture around harassment. Orhan KaraDepartment: Economics & Finance Your support is greatly appreciated. Many thanks. John LeveilleDepartment: Anthropology and Sociology I would like to be considered as an alternate delegate for APSCUF. I have been actively involved in academic unions elsewhere, and my academic research has focused upon topics directly related to unions. Specifically, one of my main areas of research and teaching is in social movements, including the labor movement. As a delegate I would advocate for an (appropriately) assertive union stance with regard to management. Lisa MillhousDepartment: Communication and Media I have served in leadership positions in the past for local APSCUF and state APSCUF. I believe that my experience and knowledge would be beneficial for our delegation, and I am concerned that we make sure we have a full delegation present to represent WCU at the state level. Dawn PattersonDepartment: Department of Special Education Since arriving to WCU, Fall of 15, I have served as a Department Representative for APSCUF and have taken this service seriously. I have appreciated being involved and learning about the union, the rights of faculty, and how APSCUF supports all faculty. I feel that it is important to be a resource for faculty. During this time I have disseminated information from Department Representative meetings back to department faculty. I am now ready to be more involved. I am requesting your vote to serve as an alternate state representative and serve the faculty, campus wide. Being more involved and more informed will make me a better resource to you. Dominik WolffDepartment: Languages & Cultures Dear fellow APSCUF members-- I am very interested in playing a more active role giving service not only to the university, but locally and regionally as well. Having been brought up in a union environment myself (growing up the son of a coal miner in Germany in the 1980s), APSCUF is very dear to my heart. I would appreciate your vote in this state delegate election. Thank you kindly. Danielle YocomDepartment: Nursing As a second-year faculty member at West Chester University and Department Representative for Nursing, I welcome the chance to serve as an alternate APSCUF state delegate. While I am new to the university, I am excited to become more involved in APSCUF in the best interests of West Chester University students and faculty. I appreciate your consideration and the opportunity to grow in my role as member of APSCUF. Created and copyrighted by Clifford Johnston, 2000-12 |
