Jen Bacon

Department: English

I have been a State Delegate for our campus since 2004, and I currently sit on the Executive Council for State APSCUF. I would very much like to continue this work. I believe I have contributed meaningfully to the work of APSCUF through my work at the Legislative Assembly, on Executive Council, on the State Rules and Bylaws Committee, and on the Personnel Committee, and that my input is particularly useful around a certain set of issues that are near and dear to my heart. I have been particularly helpful, I believe, in my advocacy for further Domestic Partner benefit protections, and for greater sensitivity to issues of language, structure, and affect as they may impact the diversity of our organization and its ability to seek social justice for faculty. I chair the Temporary Faculty Issues committee for our own campus, and feel that I bring a much needed voice on behalf of temporary faculty to the State-level conversation. I would be honored to continue to make sure that the issues facing faculty who often feel marginalized are included in the organization’s goals.

John Elmore

Department: Professional & Secondary Education

I would apprectiate the opportunity to continue to serve as an APSCUF state delegate for WCU. My committement to faculty rights and shared governance that drove me to run for state delegate in the first place, have only been strengthened by my experience over the past two years. I have learned a great deal in my first term and I am hoping to put that experience to use in a second.

Joel M. Ressner

Department: Chemistry

I have been a delegate to the State Legislative Assembly since the mid-1980's. One of my main concerns has been curricular and academic policy on a state level, an outgrowth of my experience as a member of CAPC. I have been able to bring back to APSCUF-WCU "breaking news" about such BOG policies as the Academic Passport, the 120-credit mandate, and the new 60-credit mandate. I also have an interest in retirement issues, and until recently served as the Chair of the APSCUF State Retirement Committee. I hope to once again have the honor of serving WCU faculty as a delegate to the State Legislative Assembly ans solicit your support for my candidacy.
